How much is car insurance for a learner driver?
  • Most insurers require learners to sign up for a certain time period, whether it’s a month, two months, or even a year. This can be really expensive, so we decided to do things differently.
  • Instead, with Cuvva’s learner insurance, you can get insured for as little as just an hour. Basically, use us as much (or as little) as you need!
  • What’s it mean for your wallet? The average provisional driver pays an average* of £14.05 for 1 hour of fully comp insurance, and £21.18 for 2 hours.

Learner driver FAQs

Does my insurance cover other learner drivers?
  • Unless the learner driver is a named driver on the policyholder’s insurance, it’s safe to assume that they are not covered.
  • However, learner driver insurance is fairly accessible now and with some insurers like Cuvva, a learner can get coverage of their own for as little as 1 hour.

Already passed your driving test?

Nice work! You may want to consider our monthly subscription insurance. It’s suitable for young drivers who have held their licence for at least a year, and don’t want to install a black box, or put up with curfews.
