When you get a Cuvva subscription, we’ll need to verify some of your details.
The main reason for this is that we need to make sure that your quote is correct, because any mistakes could affect your cover if you ever needed to make a claim.
We also need to make sure that we have enough time to get in touch if there are any issues. So for now, you won’t be able to start your cover immediately - you’ll need to select a start date between 3 days and 3 weeks in advance.
Here’s what we need to verify when you buy a pay-monthly subscription.
If you have a no-claims bonus from a previous insurer, we may be able to offer a discount on your subscription.
We'll sometimes need you to upload a proof of no-claims document into the app.
For more information, check out our article on NCB verifications - we’ve gone into more detail over there.
We’ll also need to verify your residential address.
We can sometimes do this automatically. But this isn’t always possible, so you may be asked to upload a Proof of Address document into the app.
For more information, check out our article on verifying your address.
When you pay for your subscription, the app will ask for a picture of your vehicle.
We ask for a photo of the vehicle so we can see its condition at the start of your policy. This can help with any future claims.
The photo will need to be taken ‘’live’’. This means that you should take a photo directly of the car - you can’t upload an old photo from your gallery.
Check out our page on vehicle photos for more information. We’ve gone into more detail on why we ask for vehicle pictures, and how to make sure that your photo is clear enough.
The last thing we need to verify is your identity. You’ll need to upload a selfie, and a photo of your UK government-issued ID. and ID (usually a passport or driving licence).
This is to make sure that nobody else can take out insurance in your name.
If you have any questions, our customer support team should be able to help. They’re available 24/7 in the app.
We're here to help 24/7. Just ask.
