Deleting your account

You can delete your account, so long as you haven’t bought a policy with us.

How to delete your account

To delete your account, you’ll need to get in touch with our customer support team. They’re available in the app all day, every day. On average, we get back to you within a minute.

To chat to our support team, open the app and tap the chat button in the top right of the screen.

Once your account has been deleted, you just need to log out of the app, and the process will be done.

If you’ve bought a policy

If you’ve bought a policy, we’re not actually allowed to delete your data.

This is because we’re regulated by the FCA.

The FCA says that, when you buy a regulated financial product (which Cuvva is), the company that sells you the product has to keep hold of your data for at least 7 years.

Using Cuvva again after deleting your account

Once you’ve deleted your account, you might not be able to use Cuvva for car insurance again in the future. This is because we have to keep some minimal information to stop fraud.

One of the things we need to keep is your driver’s licence number. And because Cuvva accounts are tied to one driver’s licence, you might not be able to open a new account in the future.
