Today is a very exciting day at Cuvva HQ. For months we’ve been working hard to create a new category of car insurance designed for infrequent drivers. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, you can read more about it our new subscription car insurance product here. It was originally known as Flexi but now it’s simply the Cuvva subscription product.
On Thursday the 16th of March 2017 at 13:59 (I’m being a little dramatic) we internally purchased the first live subscription policy through the app. This is a huge milestone for us as it means we can now open up the beta program for the people who want to be the initial users of this product.
Before we fully launch the product we’re going to run the beta program for a couple of months, with the aim of taking everyone’s feedback onboard so we can constantly improve how the product works. We are building a new category of car insurance designed for infrequent drivers.
What better way to do that than to hear first hand how you’d like it to work?
In the app you’ll now see a subscription tab where you can see how it all fits together, you can get a quote in under 60 seconds.
Currently there are a couple of restrictions in place which means we won’t be able to quote everyone. The main restrictions are certain occupations and a minimum car value. As this is a completely new insurance product we need a bit more data before we can open up the model to more people. We expect this to be within the next few months.
Once you’ve got your quote and you’re happy with the pricing, make sure to sign up for the beta program and we will drop you a message within a day or two to sort out the next steps.
We will be inviting all of the initial users into our office in King’s Cross to purchase their first subscription or we will help you via video chat if you live further afield. We’re doing this so if anything unexpected happens our engineers are on hand to help out and also so we can hand out the co-pilot devices.
With your help we can create an insurance product that puts you back in control!
